Vice President

The Black Rock Group, a strategic communications and public affairs firm in Alexandria, Virginia, is hiring for the position of Vice President. The ideal candidate is organized, outgoing and creative with exceptional writing skills. Our clients are engaged on a variety of issues including technology, energy, education and transportation.

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively to develop and execute strategic communications plans for clients
  • Participate in and help manage internal client teams
  • Draft and edit press releases, op-eds, memos, digital media content and other written materials
  • Work with industry specific reporters and build media relationships
  • Interact with clients; attend meetings, field requests and manage expectations
  • Plan and organize client events
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years working in public relations, media, or campaigns
  • Superior writing, editing and public speaking skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple accounts at once, work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of and interest in current events and policy issues
  • Agency experience as well as an understanding of the tech industry and technology related issues is a plus
