Chris Maloney is a nationally recognized public affairs strategist. For more than two decades, Chris has served as a trusted advisor to top executives, government leaders, and nonprofit organizations, guiding them through high-stakes communications and advocacy challenges.
At Black Rock Group, Chris plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction, integrating cutting-edge public affairs and management capabilities to drive success for clients. He has served as a general consultant for numerous winning political and advocacy campaigns, leveraging his expertise to influence policymaking, shape public opinion, and deliver results. In addition to his national campaign experience, Chris was a top congressional leadership staffer in the U.S. Congress.
The impact of Chris’s work has earned him national recognition, including being named a Rising Star by Campaigns & Elections magazine and listed in the American Association of Political Consultants’ “40 Under 40.” In 2023, he was honored by the AAPC for leading the Public Affairs Campaign of the Year, which secured the federal passage of the Respect for Marriage Act.
Chris holds an M.P.A. from Harvard University and a B.A. from The George Washington University. Originally from New York, he serves as a Committee Member of the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund. He lives in Virginia with his wife and children.
