Chris Maloney is a Partner at Black Rock Group, where he serves as a trusted advisor and strategist to a diverse array of leaders across the political, business, and international nonprofit sectors. With more than two decades of experience in public affairs, Chris specializes in public affairs and communications, leveraging his expertise to guide clients through complex challenges.
In his role at Black Rock Group, Chris plays a key part in integrating strategic communications and management capabilities across the firm. His portfolio includes serving as a general consultant for numerous successful political and advocacy campaigns. Before joining Black Rock Group, Chris was the Communications Director for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, where he was responsible for rapid response and messaging across the Midwest. His career also includes senior staff roles in U.S. House of Representatives.
Chris has earned national recognition for his work, being named a Rising Star by Campaigns & Elections magazine and included in the American Association of Political Consultants’ “40 Under 40” list. In 2023, he received accolades from the AAPC for successfully managing the 2022 Public Affairs Campaign of the Year that secured federal passage of the Respect for Marriage Act.
Chris received his M.P.A. from Harvard University and B.A. from The George Washington University. Originally from New York, he is a Committee Member of the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund and currently resides in Virginia with his wife and children.
